Wake-Surfing Ordinance Review

The Board is actively monitoring recent legal rulings and local regulatory actions regarding wake-surfing activities on Wisconsin lakes.

As part of our responsibility to protect the long-term health, safety, and enjoyment of our lake, the Board will be reviewing the increasing number of wake-surfing ordinances adopted by communities across Wisconsin. The review will include consideration of safety concerns, shoreline impacts, property protection, navigation issues, and the experiences of other lake communities.

We recognize that opinions on this topic vary. Our objective is to ensure that any recommendations are based on sound information, local conditions, and the best interests of the lake as a shared resource.

The Board will provide updates as our review progresses and welcomes constructive input from members.
